During Election Period, AirAsia Philippines Guides Travelers on how to Travel Safely

“We are expecting a significant surge in passenger traffic in the months leading to May, as it coincides with both the summer travel rush and the return of voters to their provinces for the midterm elections. To avoid any travel disruptions, we urge our guests to plan ahead and book early -- especially for high-demand routes like Caticlan, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa and Tagbilaran.” ~Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer

As the 2025 midterm elections approach and the campaign period begins tomorrow, February 11, AirAsia Philippines encourages travelers to follow election-related travel guidelines to guarantee a hassle-free, safe, and easy trip.

Given the increase in travelers at the airport and the security checkpoints along important routes leading to the airport, guests are advised to allow extra time—at least two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international ones.

Additionally, AirAsia advises its guests to strictly adhere to the nationwide election gun ban in accordance with the Commission on Elections' (COMELEC) directive. Visitors who would like to avoid this security process can check the requirements on the COMELEC website
