This initiative is part of the P&G Safeguard
"SafeWASH in Schools" program, which was created in collaboration with the Manila Water Foundation. The program aims to instill good hygiene practices in students and teachers, protecting them from germs and viruses while at school. According to the
World Health Organization (WHO), regular soap handwashing promotes good health because having clean hands is a basic defense against the spread of infections, illnesses, and harmful germs.
P&G Safeguard previously donated handwashing stations to 285 schools in the National Capital Region and Rizal Province. The most recent addition to handwashing stations is also made of eco-bricks, or building materials made from recycled plastic waste.

Safeguard has been promoting health and hygiene throughout the country for over three decades. By supporting Global Handwashing Day, Safeguard and its partners hope to provide schools and the community with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves from germs on a daily basis.
