Find Your Purpose with Mondelēz International

“At Mondelēz International, where snacking is at the heart of what we do, it's important to remind ourselves that we must be mindful about our actions. We support making purposeful choices, both in how much we snack and how much time we devote to physical fitness. That’s why we started the WRBW challenge in 2021, at the height of the pandemic. To remind our people that wellness should always be a priority. On this our 3rd year, I am happy to see the commitment of our people to their own wellbeing, something the company greatly supports. It was a day meant for recharging and reconnecting with what drives our people. Mondelēz International Philippines recently celebrated Purpose Day, an annual event that reinforces the company's mission of empowering people to snack responsibly.

This year's celebration, themed #ProudToBeMDLZ, aimed to encourage employees to make mindful choices in their daily lives, whether through snacking or a commitment to fitness and well-being. The event also marked the end of its internal Walk-Run-Bike-Workout (WRBW) Challenge, a company-wide fitness initiative in which nearly 100 participants embraced the importance of health while snacking mindfully.




Aleli Arcilla, Managing Director of Mondelēz International in the Philippines, underscored the connection between snacking and well-being.

Purpose Day commemorated the end of the WRBW Challenge, which yielded impressive results in all categories. The Walk challenge logged a total of twelve million steps, the Run challenge covered more than more than three thousand kilometers, the Bike challenge completed almost six thousand kilometers, and the workout portion burned a staggering seven hundred thousand calories. This challenge was about more than just individual accomplishments; it was also about creating a culture of health and well-being within the organization. 




The event emphasized Mondelēz International's commitment to Mindful Snacking, which is a key component of their global snacking leadership. Employees were reminded of the importance of savoring snacks more mindfully—by taking the time to appreciate the flavors, eating smaller portions, and selecting healthier snack options. Mondelēz International's initiatives aim to promote mindful snacking, leading to a more satisfying experience and reduced overindulgence. 

Another notable Purpose Day initiative was the celebration of "Find Your Purpose Day" on October 4—a free day for employees to reflect, recharge, and reconnect with their personal purpose. In honor of World Mental Health Day in October, the Company is encouraging both professional and personal growth by giving employees a dedicated day to rest and focus on what motivates them.
