As power outages in multiple locations due to "Kristine," Globe gets ready for restoration efforts

Globe provides connectivity support to affected communities

Commercial power failures caused by Tropical Storm Kristine have resulted in network outages in 21 provinces in Southern Luzon and Visayas, with Globe preparing to deploy teams for immediate restoration efforts once conditions improve.

Outages affected less than 13% of sites in Southern Luzon, but only about 7% in Visayas. Network and core services are operational in the majority of sites, and Globe assures customers that restoration efforts will be prioritized as soon as possible.


Call, text, and data services are currently affected by power outages in parts of the following provinces:

   Cavite
   Laguna
   Quezon
Region IV-B (MIMAROPA)
   Marinduque
   Occidental Mindoro
   Oriental Mindoro
   Palawan
   Romblon
Region V (Bicol Region)
   Albay
   Camarines Norte
   Camarines Sur
   Catanduanes
   Masbate
   Sorsogon
Region VIII (Eastern Visayas)

   Eastern Samar

   Leyte

   Northern Samar

   Southern Leyte


Connectivity Support

Globe has provided connectivity support to customers in affected areas to assist them in dealing with the storm's aftermath. Globe Prepaid and TM customers will receive free unlimited calls and texts to all networks, as well as 100MB of data for all apps and sites and an additional 100MB for social media apps, valid for one day.

Eligible Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi users received free 5GB of data valid for three days, while GFiber Prepaid customers received a three-day promotion extension. In the meantime, Globe Postpaid and GFiber Postpaid customers have had their due dates extended.

Globe is ready to deploy Libreng Tawang, Libreng Charging and Libreng WiFi sites in severely hit areas to support critical relief and recovery efforts.

Globe also calls on its customers to support relief efforts by donating their Globe Rewards points via the GlobeOne app.
