“Tanduay’s victory at the New Orleans Spirits Competition not only showcases our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and quality; it also solidifies the brand’s standing as a leader in the premium spirits industry.” ~Roy Kristoffer Sumang, Tanduay International Business Development Manager
Especia Spiced Rum won a gold medal and Best in Category for Spiced Rum at the recent New Orleans Spirits Competition. The competition, judged by a panel of esteemed experts, recognizes fine beverages and spirits from top-tier producers around the world.
A gold medal indicates that Especia Spiced Rum excelled in a variety of categories, including aroma, taste, balance, and finish. Especia Spiced Rum, made from heirloom sugarcane and infused with exotic spices and tropical fruits, is one of Tanduay's most award-winning products in recent years.
Apart from Especia Spiced Rum, several Tanduay rums received medals.
Tanduay Asian Rum Silver was awarded a silver medal, while Tanduay Asian Rum Gold and Tanduay Double Rum received bronze medals each.
Tanduay Asian Rum Silver, another award-winning product, is aged in bourbon barrels for up to 5 years and has a flavor profile of green, ripe fruits with hints of burnt sugar, mandarin, and vanilla. It has a pure and distinct flavor that is ideal for drinking straight or mixing into cocktails.
Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, on the other hand, is a dark rum with an excellent balance of alcohol and sweetness, as well as expressive flavors of vanilla, tropical fruit, coconut, and nutmeg. It is aged for up to seven years in bourbon barrels.
Tanduay Double Rum, another highly regarded product, is made from a blend of rums aged 16 and 5 years, which are then mixed in bourbon barrels for two years. This aging process contributes to its distinct taste, resulting in a good sipping rum with a harmonious blend of flavors from beginning to end.
Tanduay's victory at the New Orleans Spirits Competition is another significant accomplishment for the rum brand, which celebrates its 170th anniversary this year.
