Stories and Coffee Gathering at the Launch of the UCC Roast Master

National Artist for Literature Dr. Gemino H. Abad and renowned writer and literary critic Jose Y. Dalisay, Jr. (fourth and fifth from the right, respectively) graced the launch of UCC Roast Master at UCC Mentore Coffee+Bar, Shangri-La Plaza Mall. Joining the celebration were UCC Philippines General Manager Naoya Fujimoto (extreme left), President and CEO Hubert Young (fourth from left), Business Development Director Emmanuel Torrejon (second from right), and Corporate Legal Counsel Atty. Severino “SP” Sumulong (extreme right), who warmly welcomed the esteemed guests.


UCC, one of the world's most popular coffee roasters, has long been known for its expertise in producing exceptional coffee products.

The Japanese brand, founded in Kobe, is well-known around the world for its high-quality coffee products such as roast and ground coffee, instant coffee, 3-in-1 coffee mixes, drip coffees, coffee capsules, and ready-to-drink beverages. It recently introduced the UCC Roast Master, the newest addition to its growing product portfolio.

To commemorate this exciting expansion, UCC hosted a launch event attended by masters of their respective crafts. The event, held at the UCC Mentore Coffee+Bar in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, represented the brand's commitment to quality, artistry, and the perfect cup of coffee. Dr. Gemino H. Abad, National Artist for Literature, and Jose Y. Dalisay, Jr., renowned Filipino writer and literary critic, attended the launch.

UCC Philippines General Manager Naoya Fujimoto and Business Development Director Emmanuel Torrejon discussed the company's history, starting in Kobe and expanding to various regions around the world.

UCC is the only Japanese coffee brand to be ranked among the world's best, and it continues to introduce new product innovations like the UCC Roast Master to improve its customers' coffee experiences.

The UCC Roast Master product line includes three blends of whole coffee beans and ground coffee, as well as five drip coffee varieties, which are expertly crafted by UCC's master roasters using cutting-edge production techniques.





The whole beans and ground products include the Cafe Arabica Premium Coffee, a medium-bodied coffee with lychee notes and a smooth mouth feel finish; Italian Roast Premium Coffee, a medium dark roast with milk chocolate notes and a caramel finish; and Sumiyaki Premium Coffee, an extra dark roast with dark chocolate notes and a spicy, smoky finish.

The UCC Roast Master drip coffee varieties, meanwhile, include the Special Blend, a medium roast with a guava fruit acidity and brown sugar after taste; Cafe Arabica, a medium dark roast with a milder acidity than the Special Blend and brown sugar after taste; Italian Roast, a medium dark roast with a milk chocolate note and caramel finish; Sumiyaki, an extra dark roast with dark cocoa notes and spice, smoky finish; and Decaf, a dark roast with a well-balanced a
