Cyclists come together for the first Tour de McDo in Nuvali

Following the grand opening of the 700th McDonald's Philippines location in Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna—cyclists and tourists once more flocked to one of the best biking destinations in the country for the first-ever Tour de McDo on February 12.  

Tour de McDo is a bike race with multiple stages that shows McDonald's new Green and Good flagship stores in Nuvali, Sta. Delos Reyes, Tagaytay City, Rosa, Laguna

Nearly 100 cyclists signed up for the free bike tour, which offered two options: the Nuvali Loop, also known as the "Beginner Route," which stretches 17 kilometers within the region to and from the 700th Store, and the "Intermediate Ride," which stretches 50 kilometers from McDonald's Nuvali to McDonald's Delos Reyes in Tagaytay.

A ceremonial ride out with Ronald McDonald, Chief Happiness Officer of McDonald's, marked the beginning of the Tour de McDo. Participants in the inaugural ride were given special kits that included an exclusive Tour de McDo Dri Fit shirt, limited-edition Tour de McDo stickers, and a free breakfast at McDonald's.

Bike-friendly features at McDonald's Nuvali and McDonald's Delos Reyes Tagaytay include a Bike & Dine facility and a Bike Repair Station to meet the needs of cyclists who frequent the scenic bike routes in both locations.

The McDonald's Green & Good initiative is the company's commitment to finding environmentally friendly alternatives for their restaurants and operations. McDonald's Green & Good and store are built with green building materials like light-gauge steel frames and run on utility-efficient solutions like solar rooftops and lampposts, grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, a rainwater harvesting tank, and a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system, among other things. McDonald's is committed to doing better in assisting in the preservation of the earth.
