From Ground to Sky: AirAsia Philippines honors women in action

"Gone are the days when the aviation industry was considered a "man's world”. I humbly take pride in being part of the strong women in AirAsia. Each year, the number of women in our workforce continues to grow---a progressive commitment to an inclusive workplace. We are consistently winning for our guests because there are equal opportunities for all." ~Zoe Lee, AirAsia Philippines Chief Finance Officer

AirAsia Philippines' all-female flight from Manila to Caticlan (Flight Z2 227) on Monday was a striking demonstration of women's leadership in aviation, with a full crew of female pilots, cabin crew, engineers, ground crew, and ramp agents.

Women led every part of the flight experience, from check-in to takeoff. Captain Jasmin Timola, who has flown with AirAsia Philippines for nearly ten years, flew the aircraft with an all-female cabin crew, and AirAsia's empowered female workforce also assisted with ground operations, including check-in counters, security, engineering, and ramp services.

The PAA-Talk session, "Brews & Breakthroughs: Celebrating IWD Over Coffee," will be held by AirAsia Philippines as part of its celebration of International Women's Month. The keynote speaker, Antoinette Santos, Program Analyst at UN Women Philippines, will discuss the role of the private sector in promoting gender equality in accordance with UN Women's International Women's Day 2025 theme.
