"Travel bookings consistently surge as winter begins, with demand remaining strong right through January and February—Taiwan’s peak cold season. It’s that time of the year where our guests are taking full advantage of the refreshing weather, and we’re here to make their journeys seamless and affordable for this special occasion. We want our guests to come back not just with photos, but with stories that are truly priceless - and that’s something we’re incredibly proud to be part of." ~Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer
AirAsia Philippines is experiencing a notable increase in passenger traffic and forward bookings for the first quarter of 2025, as the cherry blossom season is well underway and Taiwan's cool climate attracts more tourists.
90% of the total passengers to Taiwan in Q1 2024 were already flown by AirAsia Philippines between January and March 2025, demonstrating the high and increasing demand for Taiwan travel this year.
For Filipinos who are keen to see Taiwan's breathtaking cherry blossoms, which usually bloom until early April, AirAsia Philippines provides convenient and reasonably priced travel with twice-daily flights from Manila to Taipei and three weekly flights to Kaohsiung.
Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Taiwan
The Sanzhi Cherry Blossom Trail, a 70-kilometer stretch of industrial roads in Sanzhi lined with over 15,000 cherry trees, mostly the native Taiwan Cherry variety, is one of the best spots to see the breathtaking cherry blossoms, according to the Taiwan Tourism Administration website. Sanzhi is one of Taiwan's most visited cherry blossom destinations, with the mountains turning into a stunning sea of red, white, and pink blooms during the busiest time of year.
