“We are honored that our brands are included in this list of most favorite restaurant chains in the United States. We thank our customers for their continued support, resulting in this citation that inspires us even more in our mission of serving great-tasting food, bringing the joy of eating to everyone.” ~Ernesto Tanmantiong, Jollibee Group President and CEO
The Jollibee Group scored yet more victories when four of its brands were included on the list of America's Favorite Restaurant Chains for 2023. Jollibee, Chowking, Smashburger, and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) were named among the best in their respective categories by Newsweek, a leading news magazine and website, and global data company Statista.
An independent survey of over 4,000 restaurant chain customers and employees in the United States was used to determine the ranking for 2023. The respondents were asked to name three ethnic cuisines and 13 dish categories of restaurant chains they would recommend.
Chinese, Italian, and Tex-Mex cuisines are the three ethnic cuisines; BBQ, burgers, chicken, coffee/tea/baked goods, ice cream/frozen yogurt, juice and smoothies, noodles and ramen, pizza, sandwiches, seafood, soup, steak, and sushi are among the 13 dish categories.
Chowking was cited for Chinese cuisine, Smashburger for burgers, CBTL for tea and coffee, and Jollibee for chicken.
Statista says that every rating was turned into a score value and added together to get a final score. These nine assessment criteria were used by survey respondents to rate their restaurant chain experience: taste, hygiene, COVID-19 measures, ingredient transparency, location, addressing environmental issues, accessibility, service quality, and employee treatment
A restaurant chain needed at least seven out of ten recommendations and an overall score of at least seven to win. A restaurant chain was also required to have at least three locations spread out across various cities in at least two states in the United States.
