Beautiful and Scenic Locations in Vancouver

There are so many beautiful and scenic locations calling Vancouver home that it’s impossible to list them all. Here you’ll find a brief overview of some of our favourite places to visit.

Queen Elizabeth Park

Named for Queen Elizabeth during her visit to Vancouver in 1939, the park is located on top of Little Mountain, which also happens to be the highest point in the city. The park features lush greenery from a variety of trees and gardens, art and sculptures, along with magnificent fountains among other attractions. Stroll through the park on any given day and you’ll also find plenty of activities to do. These include a disc golf course, pitch and putt golf course, tennis courts, lawn bowling, Tai Chi, and trails for running.

This Ming Dynasty-style garden-home is both a registered museum and one of the top tourist attractions in the city. The garden features a variety of cultural and educational programs, guided tours, exhibitions, and festivals for visitors of all ages. This one-of-a-kind garden has received multiple awards and honours over the years, including being recognized as one of Vancouver Heritage Foundation’s “Places That Matter.” Other noteworthy achievements include being named World’s Top City Garden by National Geographic in 2011 and being voted Canadian Garden of the Year by the Canadian Garden Tourism Council in 2012.

Vancouver’s first and largest urban park is a treasure trove of wonderful sights and delightful experiences. From different points within the park you’ll see majestic water views, beaches, mountains, and of course Vancouver’s skyline. Spend the morning exploring Stanley Park by walking or biking its famous Seawall. In the afternoon, visit the totem poles of Brockton Point or get tickets for the Vancouver Aquarium. Finish your day at a local restaurant and then go for a walk along one of the many park beaches.

Vancouver residents pride themselves in the splendor of Stanley Park. If you would like to have Stanley Park in your backyard, find homes for sale in Vancouver that are right for you and your family.

Whether you’re visiting in the warmer months or the colder months, Grouse Mountain offers breathtaking views, activities, and plenty of reasons to stay just a bit longer. Take in the full beauty of the mountain by riding the gondola to the summit or choose any of the hiking trails to experience the wilderness up close. If you’re an avid hiker then you’ll absolutely want to hike the Grouse Grind, which has been nicknamed Mother Nature’s StairMaster. The mountain is home to all kinds of wildlife, including resident grizzly bears Grinder and Coola. In the colder months, the mountain is home to all types of fun in the snow, such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and outdoor ice skating.

Originally constructed in 1889 from cedar planks and hemp rope, the bridge was later rebuilt as it became a high-traffic tourist attraction. Millions of visitors have crossed the Capilano Suspension Bridge over the years, basking in the sights and sounds of nature 70 meters above the river. Other attractions include the Cliffwalk, treetop adventures, Raptors Ridge, and the Kia’Palano educational program highlighting British Columbia’s First Nations people.

It goes without saying that these beautiful and scenic locations of Vancouver can’t possibly be experienced in a short visit. Thankfully, the good people of Vancouver invite their visitors to stay as long as necessary to fully experience their wonderful city.
